The crossmember that is directly under the engine has a nice long crack in it. It looks like it has been welded before (I can't believe that I didnt notice the old welds before).

I dont want to reweld it, I would like to replace it or install something more beefier. How easy is it to change this crossmember? I see rivets and the motor mounts are attached to it. Also, how difficult would it be to install a custom made xmember? like a round one or thicker one?

one more thing, if replacing it is a big deal (chassis alignment or something), how would go about fixing the crack?

    TIA.

MO makes a bolt in replacement. I made my own, it's not that hard. Those cross members are almost always cracked. Most guys doing cross-over replace it anyway so they can use a straight drag link.
