I have a 89 blazer with a NP241 and one of the brace bolts is broken. The bolt that connects the passenger side transfer case brace to the tranny is broken. So how do I get what is left of the bolt out, what size bolt goes back in? Thanks for your help!

there are usually two possible reasons why a bolt breaks off. either the bolt is corroded inside the threads and the head twists off before the threads come loose or the bolt was overtightened and the head broke off. since the transfer case has an aluminum case the hole would probably strip out before the bolt would break off, the bolt is probably corroded inside the case. the text book solution would be to drill through the center of the bolt and use an easy out to grip the inside of the bolt and back it out, but that is usually easier said than done, it will probably have to be heated and soaked with penetrating oil to loosen it. worst case, drill the bolt completely out and install a heli-coil to replace the threads.
