when I went through the Tomichi Valley on over to the home of Mr. 3 on the tree. (Gunnison CO.) Mike you have a ton of snow over there and not soon to melt looks like to me! My daughter's father-in-law owns Gunnison Gravel and Excavation he has already sold all of his stockpile of Sand and Salt to Crested Butte, he is scrambling to make more to sell. Mike I think you need to make the Mar 11th trail run just to get out of the deep freeze and warm up for a little while! You know here in the "Banana Belt" of the Co. Rockies!
Anyone else in the lower 48 that cold this morning (2-25-06)

    -7 degrees F.

Shoot, -7 is warmer than most mornings have been. I am planning on making the 3-11 trip. Taking the old Blazer to the shop tomorrow to check out the brakes and change the thermostat, maybe do an oil change. The oil hasn't been changed since 2000, but not even 1000 miles since then. I'm still thinking I will have to leave here at 4:30 to be there by 8:30. Don't know how fast the old girl will climb Monarch, AND with 4 wheel drum brakes and no power assist, I'm sure not gonna be in a hurry going back down!!!

Thats great to hear Mike, make sure your headlights are working well also! We saw more deer along the north side of the highway than we even see over here. Some where past Parlin there were a lot of elk. Be careful my friend. :)

Headlights and foglights both. The elk are around Tomichi Dome, bout 3 miles east of Parlin. Next time you are coming thru, let me know-if you have a few extra minutes come by the house, I'm only a block off the highway. Mike

Sounds good we'll do that! If we had only known you could have met us at the sonic, we had an early supper there.

You were 3 blocks from my house! I am 1 block south of 50, and 1 1/2 block west of the first traffic light, coming from the east. If you know where the firestation is on New York, I am across the street from it.
