Ok another Q. My Jimmy has a pair of bucket seats in them with large square metal backs. Does anyone know if these are original? I kinda like the ones that I have seen on some other Jimmy/Blazer with the plastic back.

    Thanks for your time folks.

Thanks for the info. I think I still would rather go with the other seats. Guess these will be up on the board when I am ready.

I have never seen the metal backed seats, but if they are similar in shape to the plastic backs.... I bet they would look pretty incredible with a nice coat of paint... Either way, the 69-72 Blazer buckets are pretty classy looking..

    Hey there,

I have the metal backed heavy duty seats. I will get the option code from my glove box. I have a 70 GMC Jimmy.

i think that the build sheet called them heavy duty aux seat. i have seen ones without the metal back as well that are still optioned that way, they look the same with the big square back, but no metal back on them.

Heres what I found in the '72 spec sheets:

    Seats, front:
Auxilliary, one-passenger. Nota vailable when bucket seats or CST is ordered. includes RH sunshade, armrest, and seat belt. Option AN3

Bucket, driver and passenger. included when CST is ordered. includes console, RH sunshade, armrest, and seatbelts.
Without aux top. also includes front compartment color-keyed vinyl coated floor mat. option A50

With aux top. also includes front compartment color keyed carpet. also option A50

And there is no Custom Z62 listed for '72 Blazers, only Z84 CST.
Z84 happens to be Cheyenne equipment, also.

I dont know about other years yet.
