How do you guys get the bugs off your bumper/grill/lights? Not that bad a road bug problem here in Oregon but I know back east cars get plastered. A regular scrub brush with soap doesn't work too well.............what are your tricks?

When I lived in Fl a few years ago I washed semi's on the weekends. They had these lovely critters called love bugs that just stacked up on the fronts of the rigs.
We used a pressure washer to get the worst of it off and then used pieces of buffing pads for wax floors to scrub the rest of em off.

Spray on WD-40 before you start and let soak in but don't let it dry and wash as you normally do. Works on the Love bugs in the South...

For my bumper (stainless steel plate) I use Mother's polish and that puts a brilliant shine on it while it cleans it everything off. Don't know how the chrome would withstand metal polish though.

I thought they made some stuff that takes the bugs off... not sure of the name though? Anyhow I see it over in the car washing/waxing section when I go to Pep Boys and Walmart... so on... wonder if that stuff would work? I dunno about where you are but when I drove to Portland cripes I had about 40 Dragon Flies on my truck that took me forever to get off! If that stuff works I will invest in a bunch! [IMG]

    works best and cheapest---
WINDEX spray your windshield, bumper, chrome mirror backs, etc,,, wash your hood with regualr soap, by the time you rinse your hood, every thing else has soaked long enough, bug run right off.
I live in the northeast, bugs are MAJOR problem.

i just use the squeegy thing on the winshield when i fill up, and when i get in the mud i just rinse the excess off with a hose, and make sure to get the inside of the rims good, let mud dry in there once, and i thought the vibration was cause the truck to come apart
just kidding about washing, i have had the truck 8 months and i have washed it once [IMG]

    It needs a bigger motor.

OK, OK, what I really do is lightly sand the front of the bumper and reapply a littl semi-flat black paint (disclaimer - this only works on steel bumpers)

And if you're not running the stock bumper just repaint it and call it 'textured'...[IMG]

Get you one of the kitchen sponges wrapped in cheesecloth - add a little carwash soap and they come right off.

    Dos mas Tecates!!!

To remove bugs wash off as much as possible then dry/ let dry, the rig and use 0000 steel woll. ONLY on bumpers, chrome and glass. It will scratch paint and plastic.

I live in Fla and know all too well about love bugs. Those are the paint eatinest things you ever seen!

I get the majority of love bugs on my suspension. Kinda humorous actually. I have never figured out how that is, semis get plastered in them and I end up w/ none on my glass and all over my suspension and differential!

I get all the excercise I need pushing my luck![IMG]
