Got one of my knifes in today, and set about building it.

The kit was pretty straightforward, and assembles easily.

However, there's just one thing I need to work on. The knife is a liner-lock and the liner doesn't engage the blade enough to fully lock up. So now I get to take it apart, file a little, reassemble, check lockup, and repeat.

I already had to tweak one liner a bit so the blade clears when folded.

I'll get some photos when I can resize them

    Got the lockup problem resolved.

Working on doing some filework on the thumb area for some better traction.

    Lesson of the day...

Don't try to file without first having a vise available

Turned out looking OK on one side, and the other looks like crap

Why buy anything in kit form?

I wanted an easy way to get a grasp on the form and fit of a folding liner lock knife. $16 is good enough for me.

Looks good, thinking about making one a tidbit fancier than that for my dad for his b-day. I can't afford another $120 turkey call.

Thanks for the link in the first thread by the way. ;)

I think it looks cool. I looked into it last year to make some for family but never got around to it.

very cool knife. a memory seing a knife allways brings up. I've been stabbed before, the doctors said the wound was over six inches deep, went completely through my stomach, both sides, close to completely through me since I was so skinny as a teenager. had major surgery and almost died, but I did'nt. now over 20 years later its just a couple of cool scares and a crazy memory I have of allmost being killed.

my 5 yr old says he is glad I did'nt die then. anytime I see a knife I am reminded of my past and the trouble I used to get into. I consider myself pretty lucky to have survived. about 10, 11 years ago I got a tattoo of blood coming out of one of the scares I have on my stomach, I want to get a tattoo of a knife handle with a little bit of blade showing one day, and the date I was stabbed. I did not die on that date so its a special day to me. if I would have, I would missed out on the great son and good life I have now.

Where did you get the knife kit from. I used to make quite alot of knives. I still have the first one I made completely with hand tools and stock removal method.

I moved on to playing with my coal and gas forges now. I just dont get a chance to go burn things as much as I used to.
