Don't have one but I think they're pretty cool. Can you still get them. I heard GM sued them. Too expensive for a new body for your Chev truck IMO.

GM did sue and now the bummer is no more. They were fiberglass so I think they were more at home at the mall than on a trail. If you liked the look I think you can get a simular kit thats steal I think they are called urban gorila but Im not sure.

Go real or go home. Plastic kits belong on the bookshelf

like: massive weight loss vs a standard body and the conversation-piece it would be...

hate: COST... and that it looks like a reject hummer and not like a K5. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I like the concept since it allows a big weight reduction and room for much larger tires without more lift, full convertible option, and the body is a little more purpose built for off-road driving.
The problems is that it needs to be narrower than the stock body rather than wider in order to fit down tight trails. It is also very expensive.

wouldn't go for it myself, but interesting. A local Canadian company made something similar .. called a CATVEE .. all aluminum body. Nice kits.

The Catvee is a great kit We saw the Bummers in Moab as well.

The Catvee is made of formed aluminum, complete body kit and interior as well. I drove one from Calgary to Southern California (9 days back and forth) and one from Calgary to Moab.

The first one was built on a 2001 Superduty chassis with a 7.3 Turbo Diesel, and the second one was built on a 3/4 Ton chevy frame with a Ramjet 350.

My co-driver at Top Truck Challange is the guy who designed and built the Catvee. Mark Cymbaluk from Rocky Mountain Offroad.

    Tim.
