I am currently welding up a front bumper made of 2 - 3.5" tubes (3/16" thick), and I thought about making that into a air compressor tank. Does anybody see and problems with this? being 3/6 thick I don't think I would have to worry about and crashes

Yeah would be like reactive armor in a hard crash : ) I don't think your going to end up with much capacity though....I guess if you were blowing up small tires maybe.

but I am not sure that is just my .02
