    Thanks all.

Goal is simply put a reliable hunting, camping rig (that I can use)that will be used for some wheeling...........probably not much more than a lift, mud tires and I'll see from there.

See, the K5 was great, was fun to build, but after all was said and done all I could use it for was wheeling. Not enough room for taking it camping with 2 kids, their friends, the dog, the stuff (and we don't minimalist camp /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif), so after soul searching the best thing for me and my family was selling the K5 and upsizing. This way I get the best of both worlds, have a stretched K5 that I know what to do, what not to do, and how to do it, and the room for what it's primary mission will be. I'm happy with the choice, still have the 89 Jimmy S15 for gas mileage and now have something new to work on! Got good money out of the K5 and can judiciously upgrade the Burb as I see fit.

It's already 3/4 ton, already FI, has the best automatic tranny you could want, has a posi rearend (yes, it's 'only' a Gov Lok, but for my purposes it will be fine until I find a 14BFF to put in) and has all the power options - which for me is important. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    Me happy. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

Those tires, wheels and hubcaps are gone as soon as I get the lift in from ORD, install it and buy the tires and wheels. 4" lift and 35's a coming..............probably BFG MT's or something comparable. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No way, 4" rear springs and a zero rate if needed..............this will be towing capable all the way and after Grim's experience with a shackle flip and towing I'm not going there. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
