Well my burb is going 1 ton before the Jimmy. I know the burb doesnt wheel, but I need the bigger brakes and I am trying to make a very reliable tow vehicle without going out and buying a new HD. Next I will be looking for a th400, NP205, and driveshafts to finish it off. I will look for another D60 and 14 FF for the Jimmy probably this summer.

That will be great in the 'Burb. I missed a '77 1ton Pickup a couple of months ago. The whole truck went for $450!! At least it went to a good home. One of my employees ended up with it. He is going to put the axles under his '67 shortbox. I am trying to talk him into 39" Boggers for it. It is a lot easier to spend other people's money.

I figured since I cant afford a new HD crew cab, I can make the burb work untill I can. I have had good luck with the 1/2 ton axles in the Jimmy, so they will have to do for now. Next is the 4L80E or a th400, if anyone has a lead on them that would be great!
    Thanks Dan

I was thinking about a HD Crew when my new engine blew in my 'Burb. The d@mn thing only had about 2,000 miles on it, and it decides that it likes anti-freeze better than it likes gasoline. I thought (still do) that a 8100 w/the 6 speed would be great. Started figuring what the monthly $ was going to be. OMG. Guess I'll stick w/ the old stuff for a while. Going to drop in a 350 for now. Either build a 400 or a 496 for it. I am basing my engine choices based on what pistons I have laying around. Would like to save the 496 for a "serious" trail rig. The guy that bought the tonner is selling me the TH400/NP203, and giving me a 4sp NP205 as well. Since the bearing needs changed for the doubler...

Right now the wish list exceedes the available time and bank account.
