My cousin has his own Graphics company, so today I told him the name of my company and asked him to go ahead and prototype a logo for me. So hes been really bored lately and went right home made one up and hand deliviered it to me. What do you guys think? I kind of like it, almost has a graffiti feel, which isn't me so much, but its a company its not me... I don't know.

yeah, I was thinking it needs an "inc." down next to the side of it. I won't be incorporated, but it gives it that little, "NOT PISSED" thing... Maybe Periods between each letter? M.A.D.? The more I look at it, the more I think he went overboard on it. My personal style is old school script(I will take pictures of my coolant bottles at work, they display this well), but I think it needs to be something a little more general to peoples liking.

That and if it is "MADinc." rearrange the letters and it spells my last name "Mandic".

Yeah, I would at least leave it like it is and add Mandic Auto Design across the bottom.

I'm not planning to focus on offroading. Thats MY main hobby, I want to cater what I can make money doing. Locally I forsee that being slammed trucks and street cars.

And I thought about the Mad4wd thing, but the Mandic Auto Design is just too perfect to care about the similarity.

Unfortunately, it may not be about whether YOU care about the similarity or not. Lawyers for established companies are funny like that, y'know...

Were you here when either the Nor-Cal Big Dawgs or the So-Cal Big Dawgs got a letter from the legal (b)eagles for the Big Dogs clothing company, giving them s**t for trademark infringement? I guess it all worked out in the end (after all, the websites are still up and the clubs still exist AFAIK), but it coulda been ugly.

As far as the logo goes, maybe just a bit less "angry"-looking, and definitely add "Mandic Auto Design" underneath. Maybe make the bottom edge of the MAD letters a bit more of an arc; I think this would make for a better appearance with "Mandic Auto Design" underneath.
***EDIT*** Try superimposing two torches, with their flames at the top facing outboard, within the letter "A". That might be cool, and give more indication of what you do (will do).

Kind of my thought too. Kind of looks like something you would see tagged on the side of a sound wall in a rail yard to me.......

I think if the text itself were skinnier it'd look better...the letter's look kind of wide IMHO.

I would make sure it looks nothing like the mad4wd logo. That one is too close IMO.

I guess it depends on the type of clientèle you are trying to attract. If it is clearly a very young look, then you will probably have younger folks attracted to it. However, the down side of that is that older folks might not have an interest in your company. Something good looking, but professional, is my preference. Something that will generate as much interest as possible to help your business be successful.

to add to that... the young ones arent generally the ones with money. do you want to do thorough, safe jobs, or do you wanna go as bare bones and cheap as possible?
