Good grief. It's not a current article, but it's not going away.

Between this and SB 357 to laser ingrave handgun ammo one can get a seige mentality living in this state of lib extremism.

But if guys like us did'nt live here, who would fight them?

Now they want to use lasers on onramps to anaylze vehicles that pollute, take a pic of their license plate, and send a letter to them demanding thay go to a Test only Smog Station.

If it don't pass, you have no reg.

Or you can surrender it to the State for 1000.00 bucks.

I think I may put a 1970 Sub body on my rig.

I do not want to be beholden to ever changing smog laws here.

I see freedom vanishing faster than a jackrabbit near a wolf's den.

    clicky

Oh my, I see a money making opertunity here. Let's go buy every piece of crap junker we can find, pass inspection, tweak the carb to smog away, and give them to the state for $1k. WOOHOOO... but other than that.... geeze... i'm glad I live in AZ.

Arizona already did this a few years ago. It did not last long. Here you had to get two bad readings to get a letter, so they would put two sensers on each onramp to count two violations at the same time. They were so universally hated they did not last long.

what a crock.i remember the AET test they had here, they only tested new cars????if it was 10 years old it was exemt. so a 73 fury could drive around with smoke pouring out of the tail pipe but a new car had to produce less emisions than a ciggeret.

I forsee one of two things, the state will put big concrete barriers in front of these sensors, or they will be losing some high priced equipment to some not so caring truck enthusiasts.

Oh and Thunder, any kind of license plate cover(clear, smoked, whatever) is illegal in PA. I was warned by a cop cause I had a clear one on. When her headlights hit it at night, she couldn't see my plate. I'd bet they are illegal in more places then just here.

Illegal here too. I had one on for a few years but got pulled over in jan, mine was tinted.

Thats kind of ridiclous. I guess it will teach people to keep their **** running good and passing smog. As for those who do TPI swaps ect. Use your brain when you FIRST buy somehting. THats all I have to say. :)
