I built an 8 pt cage last summer but I should probably finish it up right and tie it in to the frame. Anybody have any pictures of this. Should I just sandwich the floor with a piece of steel below the floor and then weld tubing from there to the frame? I don't have any rocker boxes but the floor, cab supports, outer rockers, everything is new. I want to make sure it doesn't sag over time.

did you do the cage to compensate for the lack of rocker boxes or for protection or both? one of my rockers is gone and i'm debating a cage or supports underneath /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

A nice article about building rollcages, and lucky for you.... the photos are of a 1st Gen Blazer getting a cage installed with supports going down to the frame!

I can't make it any easier for you than that! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I did it for both protection and lack of rocker boxes. I had to cut them out in order to replace my floor. I also did it for looks, I really like the looks of a cage when the top is off.

Hold on, people will answer. There is an awesome 'Burb here that has struts with spring bushing to tie the cage into the frame.

I'll check for links but keep this at the top - someone will get you pics.

Go to User List and look for user 502Burban. He has a link to his Webshots albums with pics of his cage install. It is one of the most awesome cage jobs I've ever seen.
May give you some ideas...hope this helps /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Thank you 502 4x4. That's exactly what I was looking for, Looks like I need to make some bushing mounts.
