This looks like the real deal....

I voted for 13 but was not too impressed with anything.

I think they should have done a design that shows grid-lock traffic on $hitty roads.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

There should be a design with a big tube of Vaseline on it. Sorry to sound crude, but living here right now that is about the only thing that really is appropriate in describing this state... /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

The state of CA can not afford to make new quarters at this time. So in lew of quarters, the new state currency for $0.25 will be a nut. The state of CA has plenty of those lying around...

LOL a nut...! How awkward though could that be. Standing at the check out at the grocery store "Oh sorry hold on a second my nuts are in the bottom of my pocket, let me dig them out..." /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Trying to incorporate too many things into the idea (the bear, mountain, poppies etc...)...

The person is Eureka the I have found it thing holding a gold nugget is my best guess? Or maybe the scales of justice? I am just trying to recall all the stuff in the state capital that looks like that....

I always wondered about that thing. Why a Roman Woman? Did they go into battle? /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Personally, I think the California state quarter should have pic of an SUV drivin' soccer mom with a cell phone crammed in her ear, but... I digress /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think 13 was a good choice. Pretty much shows the good things that came out of the state. God nows there ain't been anything in recent times to put on a quarter.

Here's my ideal for a more modern #13. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif with just a few things changed. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Instead of the redwoods you could use big pot plants. For the poppys you can use buds. Instead of mountains how about a smoggy skyline. And last but not least replace the goldminer with a junkie slamming some crack. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I think they're just gonna have to increase the size of the quarter for us. California will have the only quarter the size of a dinner plate /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
