How would I block out my number if I am calling someone with caller id? I have a personal cell phone and sometimes when I get a page at work when I am driving somewhere I use it to call a parent because I have a ton of free minutes and it’s not a big deal to use them that way. However I don’t want the parents to have my cell number though since it is personal. They can call my desk and page me all they want… but I have had parents call me on weekends and after hours on my old cell and I don’t want this again. I don't want my number to get out… so how do I block it?

Call your provider and ask...............it's a different combination for each provider, in PA it was *82 for me.

Not sure if landline and cell phones use the same code or not. Just dial 611 from your cell phone and ask your cell service provider how to do it. If I recall, recently I seen that you cannot change the status of your caller ID feature any longer, IE: if you weren't blocked then you can no longer make yourself blocked.

What kind of phone do you have? On my Nokia, in the menu somewhere it says "send own number when calling" if you unselect this, it will show your number as privat number on caller id's
