Okay, this summer I am painting my rig. I am doing it myself so that I won't be as concerned when it gets all scratched up on the trail. My rig is currently black and silver with the gray interior. I plan to paint it a basic black on the back half. The front and the hood I want yellow. I plan to "merge" these two together via painted flames probably mid-door area. Make sense?

Anyway, I want to get some ideas on these flames. I am asking for people to post the pics or links to any pics they may know of with trucks with flames here so I can get some ideas of how to do this. If you have a pic on your local machine, you can also email it to me at flames@lonestar4x4.org. They don't have to be pics of K5s, but rather any kind of truck with any kind of flames.

    Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Here's a picture of a 72 Blazer I saved off of Collector Car Trader Online not long ago - just 'cause I thought it looked cool as hell. They were wanting like 26,000 for it /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif (my dollar sign key won't work /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif)

Probably going to head out that way some time in June. My side business doing lawncare is going to pick up QUICK, and I won't have alot of spare time (already started power brooming some lawns). I'll shoot you a PM before I do. Also if you are going to be out this way, let me know.

Brian, I believe there are books you can buy (fairly cheap) from the online book stores that detail how to do flames (from beginner to pro).

That's cool. I will have to check those out. I am no pro, but figured what the hay. My rig has no rust and no body damage, only holes from the old bushwackers to patch. In my past I have done body work, and that sucks. All I will really need to do is prep the surface real good and hopefully be able to go from there.

Those are what they call 'tribal flames'. They have gotten REALLY popular in the last couple years.

Here is another type , actually FIRE...fawkin SWEET if you ask me...Charles does some INSANE WORK and is a hell of a nice guy, this is one of his buddies trucks...and the first 'fire' truck he did..not bad huh?:

I think that guy is up here in Wa. I had some friends that saw his booth at the local hot rod show. They said pictures do not even do them justice. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
