I have an 84 k-5 that i already put a body lift on, and a 75 k-10 which is getting one next week. My friend has an 83 jimmy with the 6.2 diesel. Can she put a body lift on it, or will it require extensive modifications?

Yes you can put a body lift on a diesel as well as a gas powered K5.
The only difference is with the trany. The engine will not be affected either way but the transmission will need attention. If it's a manual you will need to enlarge the opening on the tunnel and if it's an auto you will need to extend the shift linkage other than that you will need to check for any wiring or fuel hoses that might need some loosening to extend the amount of the lift.
If you already had a lift on your K5 you have been through it before and you should be able to do it on the diesel.
