just wondering if you can modify a tbi 454 to put out killer power while retaining the stock computer and keeping throttle body. Such as cam, intake or ??? Does anyone have any hp-torque numbers on theres?

IT'S A 1 TON THING.... IF I HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!

  2. I know you can use a 502 in place of the 454,GM sells it as a crate replacement. It makes 320 hp and 512 ft/lbs of torque.
Turbo city sells a dual TBI intake for the big block TBI motors and other performance parts.

I dont know what you consider killer power. But killer power for me starts at around 700 hp. I dont think you can get that kind of power out of a single stock TBI. But if you are talking about a good all around power build up with headers, cam, intake, and a small bump in the compression ratio. you should be able to keep the stock TBI set up.
But you will need to get a new chip burned for the computer and maby an adjustable MAP sensor. to compensate for the cam and increased fuel needs the engine will require. As the ealiler post said ckeck with http://coloradok5.com/gallery/Thunders-Blaze

A buddy of mine that owns a dyno shop put a 502 in his 87 k20 4x4. It has a stock 454 throttle body and computer. He just custom burned a chip and bored out the throttle body. His is pushing 550 hp and 500 ft lbs and is still using a 700r4.
