......take a 750MB-850MB video file and shrink it so it fits on one CD? I have a few full movies that I've DLed and I want to burn them. The only problem is that the file doesn't fit onto one disc.

How do you fit a big file onto a 700MB CD-R?

Have you tried burning it onto a Video-CD? That might work, or you could just split it into two equal files or convert it to a different codec that doesnt require as much space for the same quality.

i wanted to do that so i asked around at a couple of computer stores and they said you could only use dvd cd's to copy the videos to something about how the cd's are made, you wouldn't be able to play them back on a dvd player if they weren't on a dvd disc, but the disc cost an arm and a leg, they are like 15 bucks for 2! have you tried a winzip program? if you find out how to do it let me know, really don't want to invest in a dvd burner/cds, i only have a cdr burner.
