I would really love to have a few special channels on my cb to use for my Search and Rescue work. it would be like ten frequencies on any old channels. ( but they are special ones, like police and other secure channels.) Can this even be done? It would beat the hell outa buying a new radio just for this. Also if it is possible and one of you guys cant do this that would be great, but if you dont would a shop do it. I think it is illeagle to change stuff, but i dunno.

Hey , I dont think what you are wanting done CAN be done.. you are talking about VHF or UHF channels in a CB radio.... cant work... find out the freq. you need to be on ... go to Ebay and search for radios...

Who am I,Why am I here???

You'd need special radios to use on *those* frequencies. Best bet is to go to the local dept's and find out what they use. Then see if they can get you a few for search and rescue... [IMG] Hard stuff to procure... Expensive too...

But not doable on a CB... [IMG]

Yes it can be done but as far as getting freqs that the police are on is highly illegal especially if you plan on talking on them. Heck you can get a freq counter put on pretty much any radio and extra nobs to control it, but its really pointless unless there is someone at the other end to talk to.
