I didn't weigh myself the first day but did do measurements so here goes.

After 1 week and a little cheating :o
    Chest lost 2 inches
Beer gut lost 1 1/2 inches
    Waist lost 1 1/2 inches
    Hips lost 1 1/2 inches

Results may not be typical of all users, consult a Dr. before starting any diet plan.

Guess it helps when you start with a lot to lose.:doah:
    Weight loss will come thursday.

That is all for now, time for lunch! Hmm let's see

I have been doing a modified diet from Can Can's menu. It's been 1 week since I started and I have also been running 3 miles every day in 40 minutes. It's been tough but I have been doing it. I have only lost 2 pounds but my clothes feel looser and my wife since she has more room know when she hugs me. It's amazing how you start to lose the craving for sweets when you don't eat them regularly. I will coninue to run and eat less until I get to my goal weight of 230lbs. I weigh 270 now. I am 6'2''.

The weight loss will speed up if you stay the course.

I got an idea from a co-worker last night about the program. He suggested that if you love pasta, try using spaghetti squash instead of pasta to make spaghetti. Take the squash and cut it in half, either long or narrow way, and boil the half/halves in water until done and take a fork and rake the "spaghetti" out and use whatever sauce you like. I plan on trying this veggie spaghetti to see how I like it.

btw, I lost 5 lbs in a week. I'm at 291 now and do not have nearly the sugar cravings that I had before.

Where can I find some info on this Can Can diet? Or what would be a decent diet for a diabetic?

Blazin Dorito: 3 miles a day. WOW! Way to go.

Weighed myself last thursday and was 257.8 lbs so this thursday I will weigh again and see where I am.

yes the cravings really go away and I am getting into reading the labels on things for sugar and carbs and learning more and more what foods arent that bad for you and what are. Portion size was a big thing also. I use the measuring cups to make sure I am not doing the man size servings so I know better how many carbs and calories I am taking in while trying to do high protein.

Just hold the drinking to like once a week, you can still lose weight especially with exercise but it just won't be as fast. My numbers are identical to 70jimmy's with moderate alcohol intake. Only I weigh on Tuesdays... :D
