yep, not all that hard either.

heres what you need to do

    1) figure out the exact address of the site. ie: http:// answers.yahoo.com or whatever it may be.

    2) find the following file. C:\windows\system32\drivers\est\hosts

    3) edit the hosts file and add a line pointing answers.yahoo.com (or whatever it is) to 127.0.0.1
(TIP follow the format of the file, pretty simple)

    reboot

    voila blocked

Finding the hosts file can be a bit of a challenge...

It lives at C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Open it with Notepad to edit it.

Add this line to the end:

    127.0.0.1 answers.yahoo.com

(assumes that answers.yahoo.com is the address you want to block)

to the end of the file then save the file and reboot. This tells Windows that the address for answers.yahoo.com is 127.0.0.1 which is the local loopback address of an IP-enabled system. So the browser will just look on your PC for the URL and report that there is no server available.

Dave your one of my CK5 Bros. and all but that just sounds hypocritical of you, don't you spend a good deal of time on this very site!!!!!!!

I just couldn't do that to my wife since I spend a lot of time here.

this is true my brother, it wont be permanant just a day to bug her!

befor i got my truck back on the road I asked her to pick me up from work, i she called me and i told her to leave now as it would take an hour for her to get there, so she waited an hour to leave because she was on yahoo answers, and i was in the cold for 2 hours, so it is pay back time.:D

I allso want to make sure I can UNblock that too, just re edit it and remove the address?
