i think i already know the answer to this question but i want to be sure, My buddy is willing to give me a 350 for free so i can build a 383, But i got a old 305 in my back yard that i need to get rid of, so id rather use that if it will work the same as a 350, TIA

You won't find a machine shop to bore 1/4 inch out of it.

You can stroke a 305, it comes out to 334. The cyl. walls are not thick enough to take the bore to get it to 4.030. I'd take the 350 block, if I were you. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Nope there not, the 350 has a 4 inch bore, and a 305 is a 3.735, they both have the same stroke at 3.48 inches though.
