Can smell gas, after a lot of acceleration.....

Discussion in '1973-1991 K5 Blazer | Truck | Suburban' started by **DONOTDELETE**, May 21, 2002.

When I am driving and I stomp on it and hit kick down etc, when it shifts back up after gaining speed, I can smell gas. It's pretty strong, even with all the windows up. The engine is a 350 4bbl, with a rebuilt Q-Jet, headers etc. I was thinking maybe the carb was jetted wrong and dumping in to much gas or something, but I really know nothing in this department. Any help would be great, thanks for you help. 80K20

my 79 had the same problem, I looked at my air filter lid and there was a 1/16" gap all the way around. I changed the A/F to the correct one and never had any other problems with it
