Can a cell phone help with childhood obesity? It may sound far fetched, but it's the subject of real scientific study. Diet researchers are testing cell phone text messaging as an alternative to pen and paper to help youngsters keep track of their eating and exercise habits. "That information would go into a computer and they would get an automatic feedback signal telling them how they did," said Cynthia Bulik with the University of North Carolina. The text messaging group also spent less time in front of the TV or computer. The next step: test this idea with older teens and with people who have easting disorders. Link Here.
