i was just going through the change in my pockets, getting ready to turn in for the night, when i noticed one of the pennies made an odd sound as it hit the others. upon further inspection, this penny isnt round like all the other Canadian pennies i've seen. this one is a dodekagon, as in, it has 12 distinct sides. is this normal? the date on it is 1984 if that makes any difference.

after digging threw my change jag, i found 6 canadian pennies
    1959 round
    1967 round
    1970 round
    1980 round
    1982 dodekagon
    1996 dodekagon

after some thurough testing, the round canadian pennies sound the same when dropped as a us penny, but the dodekegonal canadian pennies sound higher piched than a standard US penny (yes, im bored as hell)

since were on the subject, ive always wondered if vending machines in canada reject us coins, or maybe some that were made in the us but reside in canada reject canadain coins.

    there are many different stiles.

new ones are messed up there only copper plated alum, can burn them away with a butane torch, yeah i get board too.

quarters are good to go in, but i think the smaller coins are not acsepted, but yours dont take 1 and 2 doller coins :dunno:
