/forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif Ok I did a search and did not find anything. I need to get a new carb for my truck. It has a Pontiac 428 V8 in it, I have a Edelbrock performer power manifold on there. I was woundering if I shoild try to find a Q-jet for it or just put on a 1406 and do the mods to it?
Would like as many peoples in put on this as possible.
I dont have the money to try to put EFI on my engine cuz its a '69 and will cost me over 2 grand for it so I need a good carb for it.
Thanks for all your help guys.

I put in a new Edelbrock Qjet and the engine runs great. From all my readings here, if you want something low maintenance, get the Qjet.

Jake thanks. The problem I am having is edelbrock says they dont have a Q-Jet for my engine. But I am not using my stock manifold. Does that make a diff?

What mods do you need to do to a 1406 to make it ready for hard wheeling?

Qbog is the best off road carb due to the float bowl and main jet placement.
if you wheel get a Qbog
