Hi all - I'm looking into how hard/ much cost to swap out my Carb for fuel injection. I've only owned my Jimmy for a year, and have had to adjust the choke 3 times with the changing seasons (Alaska). My wife is very for the swap if it will let my rig start right up with minimal cranking. Just checking to see what would be involved and if I could tackle it myself. Pros and cons to the swap are wanted. Would it change much of my emissions? Thanks, Gary

Check out this site: http://www.howell-efi.com/complete_kits/mpi_tpi_index.html They offer complete kits for just the swap you want to perform.

and it also depends on wether you want throttle body injection or tuned port injection. tuned port takes a little more work but it has the injectors right over the vavles so it has more control over the effeciency of the engine but then you would have to get the entire intake while tbi can be put on almost any standard carbrator intake. i converted mine over to the tuned port ( i put a corvette lt 1 in it) from the throttle body and i love it.....

Went to TPI a while ago and love it. As long as you have the hardware, a good wiring harness, and some time it is an easy swap, really. Used a Painless Wiring harness, easy plug and play, new chip burnt for my motor combo, etc.

If you do it, research it all the way............whether TPI or TBI, lots of good resources out there.
