Ok all looking for a few of us to run Carnage in BV in late Aug. I thought I would post up and give people a chance to get there rig up and running for the trail. Let me know if you would like to run this with me and what weekend works for all.

I don't know if it would be too soon, but I've got a 3-day weekend planned Aug 12-14 (Sat-Mon). I was planning to run Iron Chest myself, but I wouldn't mind riding along with someone on Carnage that weekend also. I don't think I'm brave enough to drive that one myself in the General.

B_to_C will be gone Aug 12-28, so I know he won't be able to make it. Hmm, wonder if Nick would let me borrow his truck from the airport parking lot? Nick, what do you say, good buddy? :deal::whistle:

I will try and make it but with my new job's schedule I don't know if that will be possible or not.

I doubt I'll be done with the truck by then, but I may be able to take the S-10 Blazer as a support vehicle. I know my girl would probably love to go back up there.... as long as we don't break any more steering arms. :doah:

Plus, it would give us a chance to look around BV for a possible place to move into. I think we're getting pretty serious on our idea to move up there. :D

The jimmy won't be there so it won't be my steering arms breaking!!:o

I still don't know what could have caused the weld between the steering arm and the knuckle to break???

Yep easily in the top 5 in Colorado, if not top 3.

I would say front and rear lockers and 37" tires are the minimum. I don't know if 35's would fly on a fullsize in that trail. You wouldn't want to do the trail without at least one winch in the group.

I'd like to try it, but even I have some reservations about 1/2-ton axles in there. That's why I'd like to ride along through the trail once before attempting it in the General.

I've never seen 21 road, but from pics I'd rank Carnage BV at #2 hardest in the state, right after Independence Trail.

You can plan on it being twice as hard in a full size.

There is some debate about how Billings Canyon and Die Trying fit in there. I think it's pretty unamious that Indy is #1.

Other than the exit, Indy is fairly easy if your setup, Carnage BV is a little more of a challange.

I would say on a fullsize the BV requirments would be.
    No regard for the body
Winch on at least 75% of the vehicles in the group
    lockers front and rear
    37" or larger tires
Axles that are strong enough to handle the tires
    Tools, knowledge and spares

BV is a tough trail, I hear the exit has kinda been toned down some but other areas of the trail have gotten harder.

I know of a few trials in CO that will put Indy stacked on BV Carnage with a side of 21 road to shame. It's just to bad I can't tell you or I would have to kill you and your friends and family. LOL

Or we surely we could work out some sort of deal. Did I mention I have a brother-in-law that works for New Belgium Brewery? Maybe the locations get written down, accidently dropped due to hands full with cases of beer...

Do they have to be the correct locations?
