Headded up to Carnage Gulch and Chinamans up near Buena Vista
Starting June 5th, Carnage is a 4++ extreme trail while Chinamans only takes a few mods on a vehicle to run, the 2 trails are rite next to another and there is plenty of camping.
Should be a good time! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Are you gonna be camping at Ruby Mountain, or somewheres else? I might be up for Chinamans, as well as be a spectator for Carnage.

PS - A buddy of mine did Carnage last year in his 89 Burb beofre it was reopened. He only had a 6" lift with awesome flex & 36's.

He only had one ding on his upper quarter over his right rear. Got hit when he did the bypass as it was too narrow for his big Burb. Other than that, no visible stuff.

I was thinking the same thing. There are those bypasses that were basically closed last year, but I can think of a few places there is no bypass that could cause some good damage. Hell, even my truck got damage on a bypass. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

There is a road to the left rite before Johnsons village (rite before the bridge) Then down about a mile, left through the prison property gates and your basicly there.

That kinda sounds like the entrance to the USFS Ruby Mountain Campground.

How many people are planning to make it.
I will be there and maybe bring my wife and dog. Might need someones kids for wife and dog entertainment.

Maybe Stephen and some or all of his family, as well as Beck and his GF. Stephen has a few things ORD related that might keep him and Beck from making it down.

I'd love to come meet everyone for the first time, but it is my wife's birthday that weekend and I might be pushing my luck. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Would I be okay with just 2.5" of lift and only a gov-lok in the rear? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    Negative for Carnage Gulch.
Maybe for chinamans I have never run either of them but I do know that Carnage is a full out hardcore run. I really have not heard much about Chinaman

Is anyone going down Friday night to set up camp? Id' like to go then. Depends on my wifes schedule. Either that or I will leave C/S 7-8 AM on Sat. If I remember correctly, it takes 2 hrs to get there.

MRK5, you will be able to do Chinamans no problem, if you get into trouble there are bypasses everywhere.

Thanks, I'll see if we can make it. I don't think we'll camp, my parents will live in Buena Vista. It would be myself, my wife, and 9 month old son.

This may be a hard question to answer, but what time do you think you might get started Sunday? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
