at what gear ratio does the 14ff have a carrier difference? what about the corp 10 bolt?
I am thinking about getting detroit for the 14ff /w 3.73's, just wondering how much deeper I could go with that same detriot?

10 bolt and 14 bolt both break at 4.10 and down 4.56 and up.

well, I suppose I will wait untill I get some deeper gears to get a detriot... I will definitely go at least 4.56's at some point in the future, if not 5.13's..

The detroit goes inside your carrier and you can get thick 4.56, 4.88 and 5.13 gears that will work on your 4.10 and down carrier. There is no difference with respect to the Detroit.

The detroit unit is the same for both carriers. Besides, you'll want to get the thick gears anyhow for your 14BFF. MUCH cheaper than going to a new carrier.

so I guess I can go ahead and get a detroit.... but what if I have a gov-loc, do I need to get an open carrier to swap in?

10-4 on the open carrier needed to install detroit.
