I sold my crossmember to a board member here who is from Canada. I went to deposit the MO in my bank and they said it would take 6 weeks!! WTF the money order is from the Canadian Post Office and is in US dollars. They told me to go to a Currency Exchange, but they will probably charge me a fee:mad:

What have you guys done in the past?

    International Money Orders.

Are you sure it's not some type of cheque, I've never had any problems.

It says Postal Money Order from the "Canada Post"

It has a 1-800 number on the back to verify it, but it goes to some guys mail box?? Does it matter if you call from the US?

Contact your local post office and see what they say... You can also check with AAA (if your a member)... the reason the are putting a 6 week hold is because they want to make sure it is a good check....

There's some good advice. Go down to the PO and see if they'll honor it. They should if it's a Canada Postal money order.

Will the Post Office cash a MO?

That's what you'll need to confirm. They should cash a postal money order but I may be wrong. According to my read of the Canada Post site those MO's are good at any post office in the US and Britain.

Just so everyone knows or if the person who bought my X member reads this, I am not implying they are juking me. The MO does have the authenticated watermark and the phone message might be for after normal duty hours. I will try another bank on Monday. Thanks for the help.

The website linked by Jiminy helped out, thanks.

Another bank is just going to require the check to clear. The only way I can see around that is to check with the PO..... I konw that tripple A will exchange Canadian Money without a charge, but don't know about a MO or not...

    Don't worry about it.

I guess that scam is out there and that's why they're being cautious but this is a real money order bought from my local Post office.
