when shopping for catalytic converters, i see them advertised as either 2-way or 3-way. what is meant by 2-way / 3 way?

3 way cats reduce NOX emissions along with the normal HC and CO.

i believe 2 way is simply a converter, a 3way has a port for air injection.

3 way reduces HC, CO and NOx. I dont think 3 way should have a port for air injection, all newer cars (OBD II) should have 3 way cats and NO air injection, only OBD I and older.

FWIW, from what I've discerned, at least '87-91 TBI trucks didn't have AIR into the converter either.

The CCC cars did from 1981-1990, so I'd be surprised (somewhat lol) if the CCC trucks didn't.
