Hey guys later next week I am going back to Houston to my parents house to round up an alligator they have down there that is causing problems for my family when they are fishing in a particular spot. They are not too big, just a couple of 5 ft'ers that eat the bait or the fish off of your line. Killing is against the law, and a big fine, so thats why I decided to relocate them to my uncles property in Longview since he just dug out a tank and is wanting..................you guessed it, some gaters. I already welded up a perimeter fence burried 1.5ft down and it all welded up so they wont be able to escape. Any suggestions to catching them? I am thinking of just going out and spotlighting them and lure them in with some chicken, get a noose around them, put a towel over their eyes, jump on their back while somebody else has the noose pulled tight, and grab, close, and wrap their mouth in duct tape. I think thats it as far as the plan goes. And if things go wrong, I will always have a 30/30, and a .44 redhawk at hand. That would be self defense right?

Please have someone take video. I have fooled with enough of those to know better. Jump on a 5 footers back and God be with you. Also, go ahead and print a map to your state and federal courthouses, if you get caught jumi0ng on one you will need them....

Well honestly I think I am doing the neighborhood a favor because otherwise nobody will do anything about it. In Friendswood where they live, the cops are too chicken **** to do something like that, they told me "hey its not my problem unless it attacks somebody". And the parks and wildlife people think we are clowning with them since its such a highly populated area, and said even if it was true they dont have time or manpower since they already have enough to keep them busy where their at. I have jumped an alligator that measured 54" before, not quite 5 ft, but close enough to make a sound judgement. Plus having 10 other guys there with me wont hurt. We'll see what happens, I have a camera phone, but can only take 30 seconds of vid at a time, so I should catch some of it.

If you are serious about killing it, do it right. Get a large hook. Bait it (chicken) and tie it to a tree limb. A thick one. The higher you tie it, the bigger the Gator has to be to get to it. It will wear the gator down. When you check it and have a gator, shoot him. That way you will sound like an expert in the event you go to jail.

Yeah I have learned to avoid the texas parks and wildlife people as much as humanly possible. If they find out about any kind of animal on your propert they take it as their duty to send you packets and packets of the information, send somebody out to your property to check it out, and then make you pay fees to have the said animals. That was for some pigs we raised a few years ago, and again on a turtle that showed up in the tank we dug out. Heck we just called up and asked for some way to identify what kind of turtle it was, and how big they get, and some more general info about it. Next thing we know, there are a couple of parks and wildlife peeps driving onto our propert at 7:30 am to try to strong arm us into stocking the tank with bass every couple of months, and to put in a rediculous fresh water circulation pump. Ha not likely.
