My Cobra 148GTL works and has 120 channels, 40 lower side band, 40 upper side band, and 40 am.

And as an added bonus also comes with a free PA hook-up. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

And a 148 can be modified for alot more channels too. If I wasn't so broke right now, I'd jump on that 148 deal !!!

Kewl, but it'll be awhile. Too many bills right now, + a upcomming move makes money very tight.

Yep, I have a 2950, a 2950 with a one pill amp mounted on the back (similar to the 2970, only on the back instead of the bottom), and a 2970 that I will be getting rid of. I'm just not into radios like I used to be. I'll probably put them on ebay /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Close to the same place. My father started sweeping the floors of a PBS station in Detroit at 16 , worked his way up to Chief Engineer ob KWBA TV in Tucson AZ . He does my radio work when he can find time . Mine looks unassuming until you pull the functioning squelch knob out , then you have the uppers and lowers via the clarifier knob . I only use it for trail rig to trail rig , I spend too much time on CK5 and my truck to talk to anyone . Mostly bragging rights /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

very nice. Bragging rights is a very good reason to do any mod in my opinion.
