Do they have to sit level to operate properly? or could they go at an angle at 10* or more from flat? Or what would happen?

As long as your CD/DVD will stay in the tray, you're good to go...

How do I know when it will fall out of the tray. Would it be the same thing as me holding it with a disc in it. Or does it have to be running in order to test? I just dont want the disc to fall out.

I think that might cause drive issues that the flux capacitor can't compensate for. The 10º angle causes a minute shift of the velocity of the disc, and if it's spinning at the maximum rated speed, the bearings within the drive will burn up and require repacking after only a few uses. Not only will the bearings have a problem, but the lens and laser may also have a problem directing and reading beams properly, and you end up with genocidal laser encryption in the flagellum. The encryption effect can be decoded and transferred, but it takes so long and so much effort it's almost not worth it, unless you have critical data to recover.

I'd reommend getting a gyroscope that fits in the tray and can give you exact readings before you proceed. If the readings are between 7 and 12, you're fine, if they're more than 12, you'll have a problem extracting pcb's and data continuity.

    Good luck.

Alright maybe I will just forget about putting it on an angle. Sounds harder than I expected.

    Thanks Ratch :)

On a side note Stave, Adolf Hitler was using a prototypical Wax Groove Versitile Disc (WGVD) players powered by adamantium crystals in 1944 in hopes that with the right tilt, he would in fact get that perfect genocidal laser

Sad thing (for him anyway) is that the laser, when achieved, melted the wax off of the disc, skewing it to blast off one of his testicles.

I'll exploit the power of Stave's insecurity by using the dreaded three little dots...
