I need to replace the center console lock and was wondering if anybody knows how to take it off without damaging the cover. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ray

If it's the type that doesn't actually use a key, look on the back side near the latch hook, there's a small slot, I think it's about 90 degrees from the latch, using a small pointed object push in the catch in the slot and the outer part will pull out of the latch, the center section will then unscrew to remove it from the lid.
If it is the keyed type it works pretty much the same but the key has to be in the cylinder to remove it.
It's been a while since I did these and this is from memory, let me know if I forgot anything.
