How hard is it to change speedo gearson a TH 350? When you do it does transfercase fluid run out? I just bought a $58! adapter for the speedometer cable and transmission.I might as well change gears while I'm in there.

I'll update this one. It is a piece of cake. I have a TH350/NP203 setup. Simple take off the speedometer nut and remove the adapter to the transmission. Remove the next nut. Transfer cas fluid will run out so have something to catch it. Next pull out the gear. Mine was a big metal one with 19 teeth and about 5-6" long. Put it back in the reverse order and add some 10-40 wt oil and you are done. Those with different transfercases may have a slightly different procedure such as gear oil instead.

I'm not sure on the 700. On my TH350 it is on the drivers side. Can someone else here help? Maybe the back end?

On my 700r4 it is on the passenger side of the tail housing.
