Harbor Freight had 8000lbs winch for about 299.00 looked almost the same as that? At least you cold take back the one to Harbor Freight.

I messaged a few people who bought them about how they like them, the quality, and anything else they might want to mention. I'll let you know what they tell me and what I find out.....

    Got one reply so far...

"I have not yet installed it on my bronco because it's still in the body shop being painted. I'm impressed with its appearance, if it works half as good as it looks I'll be very pleased.

I'm putting it on a 1969 restored bronco."

    Stephanie,

The winch seems to be good quality. I have not yet installed and used it so
it is hard for me to give you a good answer. I also don't have much
experience with this things but my mechanic does and he was impressed when
he looked the unit over. Once again, we haven't used it yet.

I don't think our Wes would be using an 8,000lbs winch in his 1-ton /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I use my winch alot to lift stuff and it works great the only thing I don't like is the paint is comeing of but the price was right and if I get another one I hope He has more. David

Hi... thanks for the reply. May I ask what you are lifting with the winch? Reason I am asking is I have a K5 Blazer and am interested in purchasing one because of the price. But I am hesitant it will not hold up to pulling in the trail which is where I would need it most to function right and be something to hold up. Thanks!
