Well I was having a problem with my dash speakers making a crackleing sound and shorting out. It got so bad when I went over a rough street that it would cut out my whole system so I decided to pull the speakers out. I found this:

So after seeing that crap I decided to keep the speakers. It was dark outside so I couldnt see what kind they were. WHen I got inside I looked at them and they are Boston CX-3's. My buddy looked them up and they are $80 a pair. Hopefully the speakers still work.

What do you recommend for connecting them then?
I'm gonna have to replace my Infinty's in the dash here soon (10yrs old) and want to use something better than those quick connects.

if you want something thats really high quality Id solder the wires on. All the stereo competitions give lots of point for that and from what Ive heard it sounds better and lasts longer.

That may be what the guy was thinking. The Caps in there are crimped into place. The asshat didnt even soulder them in. As soon as I took the wires our one of the caps fell out. Not a very good job. Im gonna fix them though.

Do yourself a favor, rewire the whole stereo system useing all new wires. Nothing worse then fixing one of the PO's f_ck ups just to have too pull it out later to fix another one. Soder those bass blockers (Passive crossovers) in.
