It's her birthday tomorrow, and she gets off work at midnight tonight, so I'm going to show up there and surprise her with this. I got it for $15.00 at the new (since October) glass blowing place in town. If anyone is interested in these, let me know and I can get contact information from the guy. :waytogo:

It looks like there's something inside of the glass. Is there?

Red colored glass, with swirls of light and dark. It looks even better in person!

Exactly. Back in the day, my dad got my mom a nice set of pictures of a dozen roses, with the idea that he would never have to buy her any more flowers. They got divorced... :haha:

Thanks, my aunt really likes it too. Like I said, if you're interested in one, I can get you his contact info. If he won't send it, I can pick it up and ship it for you!

did you watch the person make it. a few friends of mine do that kinda of stuff and it is just amazing. start off with a glob of molten glass and a few glass sticks and end up with something so cool. i love watching glassblowers do there work.

No, but it is an open shop, so you can go in there and watch them work whenever! They also do classes which are insanely expensive. He told me he was looking for an "apprentice," which is described as helping around the shop Friday and Saturday, and getting free classes.
