THe 4x4 vans(aftermarket deal IIRC) Had basicly a "diff" at each front wheel. That stupid thing sent the pwer to the both of them. Im sure someone will probly post a pic of the setup in a lile bit.

My 4x4 vans all use standard 205 tranfer cases, dana 44 or 60 front ends etc. I rarely have a problem. That looks like some redneck engineering to me.

The only thing I have ever seen a v-drive in is a boat or some funky rear engine wheel standing drag car........

As I recall, they were actually made by Dana. The idea was that by using a driveshaft to each wheel, with a gear drive unit tucked in just behind the wheel bearings, they could create an all-wheel-drive van without having to raise it up in the air to clear a solid axle. It didn't last very long on the market...

A 3/4 ton Chevy van just sold here in town, with that set up. I will try to get a pic of the front end. The guy was asking 2K for it.

    Hey, it's all gear driven!

I love those things, I used to see them in on the delivery vans where I went to school.

Yup. There is a complete van with that setup in a wrecking yard down here. The first time I saw it I just stood there with a tilted head saying WTF???
Interesting setup, but it appeared to me that they were attempting to re-invent the wheel so-to-say.
