I just pulled all of the OE carpet out of my K5 and now I have a bunch of bit's and pieces of carpet padding and something that looks like sound deadening mat still stuck to the floor. What is the best way to strip this off completely? Is there some sort of stripper that works well? I'm not worried about stripping the paint off because I will be having the floor lined once it's clean.

I tried alot of products to get mine off, but the thing that worked the best was a heat gun and scraper.

Air Craft stripper is some fairly strong over the counter stuff. It will take coatings off in layers and is a MESS to deal with - but very effective. Tom

Pep Boys, Advance auto parts. I use the Tal-Strip brand by Mar-Hyde. Works real good. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Hey John
I use a small propane torch and a putty knife and just peel it off. Then hit it with the wire brush.
If you just go with the wire brush first then you will be breathing and cleaning black dust off of everything!
