Is there some funky antenna attachment that goes between an after market radio and a stock antenna?

Yes !!! There is an antenna adapter to use a aftermarket stereo in newer GM vichiles. You can get them at any car stereo shop. Had to get one for the 89 Beretta when I put a system in it.

You should be able to get the adapters you'd need. Call some big car stereo shop and see what they have. I would think there should be adapters for your app.
