Does anyone know why the maximum tire size that is street legal for most areas is 44"? Is this because the maximum tire size made for most types is 44", or did they only make them up to 44" because of the law? I guess I'm asking did the laws on maximum tire sizes come first or the tires themselves? Which created which?

I say we all move to texas and sit on like 48s. Who would be the ones making those 48s? the 48s I refered to I don't know if they are DOT. They are the ones on those 2 F150s in Fourwheeler magazine. The street legal monster trucks. Owned by the same lucky texan. well he destroyed the one and used its parts to build a nicer one.

I've never heard of a tire size limit before. Aren't the michelins DOT approved? Firestone has a 48", don't they?

I live in Colorado. When you go to buy license plates for your vehicle they ask..'Do you want California plates or Texas plates sir?"
