Chris LeDoux died this morning . Some of you listen to Country like I do . I always felt he was a working class hero for us rednecks , hillbillies and blue collar American types . He actually rode , and ranched , wasn't just a hat and guitar .

He had complications from liver cancer . He was doing so much better earlier this year too:(

Man that sucks I've always wanted to see him in concert. My favorite song of his is "Billy the Kid" He was far and away a real country singer.

He was kinda my Idol while I was riding bareback horses in high school and college. Kinda brings a tear to my eye.

I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't made one of his concerts in a while and I should get over to Denver for the Stock show and go to his concert at the Grizzly Rose. I guess I can't now.

    RIP Chris

He was one of the only "real" country singers left, no one in Nashville can hold a candle to him or others like him.

    RIP Chris.

Edit: I can't find anything about his death either, on CMT.com or anywhere. Are we 100% sure this happened?

My favorite is " Western Skies " . Its good in a sense that he won't be here to see the last of the west become concrete . Fewer and fewer places without homes . I am never leaving the west .

...If they ever saw a sunrise on a mountain morning
or watched those cotton candy clouds go by
then they'd know why I live beneath these western skies

    Chris LeDoux, Western Skies

Very sorry to hear this.....he was a great singer/songwriter. Being from Wyoming he was a legend. Photo Finish is the best rodeo song ever written, Ive seen him in concert at the Goshen County Fair and at several rodeos......RIP Chris :frown1:

    He will definitely be missed.

i cant recall hearing a Chris LeDoux song that i didnt like. my grandma is a big fan. a few years back in South Bend he was playing at one of the bigger clubs in town, and after his set, he was walking around talking to people. my uncle was there, bought Chris a beer, and BSed for a while. said he was a real world guy, despite all the fame. very few left with a talent like that. Chris, you will be missed. RIP :(
