Has anyone ever used this axle? My friend was thinking about getting one for the rear of his land cruiser. I was wodering if anyone knew of any problems with them besides being under dodges? The 9 1/4 ring gear sounded good to me but does anyone know the diameter of the axle shafts? Any other specs or thoughts?

There anit much aftermarket for them, i.e. :Locker/gears...........ect.
I have not worked on one for many years, so if its the one with the spanner nut adjustment for the axle, stay away

To get 4.56 gears in, you have to grind one of the ring gear teeth to get the crosspin in.

You are better off to go with the GM 9.5" SF 14 Bolt. You get the ring gear diameter you want, along with 33 spline axle shafts, bolt-up brakes and spring pads, and you can get one to match either the 6 lug or 8 lug bolt pattern that is on your rig

They are cheap, and you can get lockers and 4.88 gears.
