In the tech section, how to shave a 14-bolt lip off.

    Looks nice Steve.
That is just how I have mine marked out.
Unfortunately I sat and looked at this pig in my front yard for 6 months and never got around to shaving it when it was on the ground.
Oh well it shouldn't be to hard to do now that it is in.
That ring is pretty sweet but as I am on a budget I got some 3/8x1/2" flat bar that I will make one out of.
Once that honkin lip is gone that will have to be a must as there will be nothing stopping the cover from being peeled off.

Is that the UAV Steve? When did I miss the disk brake conversion? Did you build a 'kit' or buy one?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Nice job! I get to do it twice. [IMG] Once for the 14-bolt that's laying on the garage floor, waiting to go into the Suburban (it won't be wheeled hard, but hey, I might as well do it while it's easily accesible!). Then again for the 14-bolt under the '75. [IMG]

Yup, that's the UAV, the brakes are a TSM kit.

Hmmmm. That is quite the set of shackle flip brackets.... Someone has been busy! Do you plan to do write ups on these other mods?

It must be tough wheelin next to Stephen. Do you feel the need to upgrade after every trip? Looking at the pics is almost too much for me :) The little woman is gonna cut me off from this site!

Is it easier to do it before you put it in or after? I haven't put mine in yet so I still have a choice [IMG]

Some day I will get some pics scanned in. [IMG] Between work, the honey-do list, the kids, the engine swap in the Suburban and keeping the other trucks all running, there ain't much time for other things... [IMG]

It would be easier to do it out of the truck, more elbo room, as far as the shackle flip goes there is a review in the review section.
