I friend of mine just found a closed knuckle dana 60 front axle for me for about $ 250 or less. It has drum brakes to. Is this axle as good as the open knuckle 60. If so except for brakes what do i need to convert it (is it worth it). I am not worried about the gears i need to change them to 513s any how. But i figure if i get it the housing alone probably worth like 200 if its the same as a regular 60 right. Please help. thanks

I thought ALL D60 fronts were open knuckle, 77-91 right? Those would ALL be open knuckle and disc brake axles.

It's most likely a Closed Knuckle 70. Later

Like others have already said, its probably a D70. I think the only closed-knuckle D60 front is 73-75 Ford crewcab.
