I have a chance to get a /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gifFREE /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif dodge front dana 60, but it has the closed knuckle. What are the pros, and cons of this axle?

I've heard they make really good boat anchors and if cut into small pieces really cool paper weights /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Seriously though, I believe they are the ones with little tiny steering joints and other downfalls...

Get it and then take it to a driveline shop and have the cut the ends off and get new open ends put on. Then go out and find open knuckle stuff from the inner knuckle out. IF you find it used it will probably still be cheaper than buy a regular one. I wouldn't pass it up.. You may even be able to sell it for parts!
